Define preposition.

A word or phrase that is used before a noun or pronoun to show place, time, direction, etc. called preposition. Ex. She went to the market. 

Define compound sentences.

A sentence with more than one subject or predicate called compound sentences. compound sentences are having one principal cause and one co-ordinate clause.

Choose correct preposition :

●  What is Correlative conjunctions?

Correlative conjunctions are pairs of words that are always used together. 

The most commonly used correlative conjunction pairs are:

both…and, either…or, neither…nor, not only…but also, whether…or.

What are methods/approaches of teaching English?

 There are few methods of teaching English :

 i. Grammar translation method

 ii.  Direct method

 iii.  Structural

 iv.  Communicative approach

Kinds of Coordinating Conjunctions.

i. Communicative

iii. Adversative 

iv. Illative 

Explain the advantage of lesson plan.

i. The teacher becomes confident, self-reliance and successful in achieving the aims.

ii. Lesson planning gives opportunities to the teacher to think out new ways and means of making the lesson interesting and to introduce thought-provoking questions. 

Types of preposition.

There are 5 types of preposition:

Phrase Preposition, Double Preposition, simple preposition, participle preposition And compound preposition. 

Explain the definition of Conjunction.

In grammar, conjunction is a part of speech that connects words, phrases, or clauses that are called the conjuncts of the conjunctions. 

Define Complex sentences.

A complex sentence is a sentence that contains an independent clause and one or more dependent clauses. An independent clause can stand alone as a sentence, but a dependent clause even though it has a subject and a verb cannot stand alone.

Define structural approach. 

According to Breminton, Structural approach is a scientific study of fundamental structures of the English language, their analysis and logical arrangement.

 Inspite of working hard, he failed.   

Ans : Though he worked hard, he failed.

Combine the following sentence into Compound sentence.  (UPBTC 2017)

I am not a man to deceive you. 

Ans : I am a man but I can not deceive you.

Ans : tell me where he was born.

The animal  maybe a fish, it may be a serpent. it must be one of them.

Ans :  The animal must be either a fish or a serpent.

Hi  lives somewhere, I do not know it.

Ans : He lives somewhere, although I do not know it.
